The Baylor Lady Bears, with four starters returning off last season's 26-8 squad, were picked to finish third in the Big 12 Conference in the 2007-08 preseason poll voted on by the league's head coaches. Defending conference co-champion Texas A&M was picked to win its second consecutive league title after receiving seven of 12 first-place votes to edge ahead of Oklahoma, who also finished as co-champions last season. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.
