One weekend to go (since the BU/A&M game was moved from tonight to Saturday due to rain) and there's still 3 teams left with a shot at the title. Baylor and Oklahoma were projected to be there, but Mizzou was picked 8th to start the year. That looked about right halfway through the season, but they've turned it on, especially their pitching, and have a good shot at winning the conference.

Baylor controls its own destiny - win both games and they get at least a tie for first, and hold the tiebreaker for the #1 seed. Mizzou can get #1 by winning 2 and having Baylor lose at least one. OU needs both Mizzou and Baylor to lose at least one. If all 3 end up with 4 losses, OU gets the #1 since both Mizzou and Baylor lost a game to the evil Lubbock weather!!

The #1 seed in the Big 12 tourney is a little more important this year. There is a pretty big gap in quality between the probable #7 seeds and the #8. Assuming the first round goes to plan (not a great assumption based on last year's tournament, the #1 seed would get either Tech (2-12) or OSU (3-13). while the #2 seed would have to face the likes of Kansas or Texas, a big jump in the level of competition.

I was gonna make the Big 12 tourney for the first time this year, but work issues have changed those plans. Hope those in the OKC area get to go. It should be a really fun tournament.

That's unreal about Missouri, I didn't realize they were picked 8th in the conference. Texas A & M has surprised me, as has OU, this season. I really though Texas A & M would do better with the girl's they returned. And I am surprised that OU has done as well as they have.

Is it a wierd year for softball? The SEC and the BIG XII are ruling in the Top 10, and the Pac-10 is NOT.
