Okay, we are ready to go for real for this weekend. All Big 12 teams are in action so you can pick your 5 starters from all Big 12 players. We will go with Jennifer's suggestion that you pick 5 starters and 1 reserve since the occurrence of an injury is slim (but could happen). The reserve's Hoopla! Point Average per game cannot exceed the 15th best Hoopla! average at that time. I got ahold of Tech's updated stats and the 15th best Hoopla! point score in the Big 12 is 15.3.

So, your starting 5 cannot have a combined Hoopla! Point Average above 76.5. And again, the reserve cannot have a Hoopla! Point average above 15.3.

swok34 - the picks you submitted qualify since your starting 5 is below 76.5 and your reserve, Nightingale, has a Hoopla! Point Average of 15.0.

Remember you are picking only for this weekend's games. Next week there are 5 games on Wednesday (none on Tuesday) - so we will be picking again just for those 5 games on Wednesday.

Anymore questions or comments? Use this thread to submit your weekend picks. Thanks!

Real cute SwooplesMVP. Will be interesting to see how you do. I should see how the teams rank against one another in terms of Hoopla! Points.

I thought that Pierson was a F/P and don't we have to have one pure forward? Or did ya'll do away with that?

Here are my picks:

(G) Jia Perkins 15.3
(F/P) Plenette Pierson 12.6
(G) Megan Taylor 12.5
(F) Nicole Ohlde 18
(F) Stacy Stephens 16.1
Reserve: (F) Evan Unrau 13.9

Total: 74.5

Yes, one pure forward. Trying to maintain a team concept here. Can't have 5 guards.

These are SwoopesMVP picks:

F Pierson (22)
G Perkins (27)
C Ellison (7)
G Tarr (8)
G O'Neal (4) Total:68

Pierson is listed as a forward/Post and having seen her play she does play both, unless Tech fans out there are insisting she is a pure forward this year. Is Perkins a pure guard?

I would let the above roster ride only if Pierson is a pure forward or Perkins is a guard/forward. I would let it go with Perkins being a guard/forward, cuz I could see O'Neal at point, Tarr a 2-guard, Perkins at the 3, Pierson at the 4, and Ellison at the 5. So, maybe the rules should be relaxed a little so that two players should have forward listed as their position even it may be F/P for one and G/F for the other (in other words - no pure forward).

But I think we may still need a pure guard - gotta have a point guard. Unless people can think of a situation where you are playing with two guard/forwards with one of them being the point. Oklahoma does this in very rare situations where Caufield ends up at point - but it doesn't happen often at all.

Yes, an old stat line for Faulk had been left in by accident. It has been removed.

My picks are an actual lineup for Tech, which they use quite often. I merely put Jia Perkins in the starting lineup instead of Candi White. Jia does play the point when she's in the game...Kat O'Neal and Amber Tarr run the point at times as well. Ellison's and Pierson's positions are pretty interchangeable with Ayers, Brown and Jackson usually coming off the bench to fill either spot. According to Tech's roster, Casey Jackson is the only pure forward...Pierson, Ayers and Brown are all listed as F/C. Ellison, Nagle and Cudnoski are all listed as centers.

I have a question too...where have you been getting your Hoopla pts from. My pts are different than everyone else's. I went to the boxscore provided in the Hoopla section. I found 27 pts for Perkins in comparison to everyone's 15.3 pts for her. Did I do something wrong?

Nevermind, I see what I did. I took the pts from the last game only instead of the pts for the entire season. Got it.

SwoopesMVP - If Tech uses the lineup you submitted then it needs to count. So you are saying that Perkins, O'Neal, and Tarr are all pure guards in the lineup? If so, then maybe we need to modify the rules and allow 3 pure guards with only 1 forward.
