Dear Al-Queda, Osama, Shiek Omar, and everybody else involved,
It's been a year since you financed, planned, executed one of the most evil attacks ever. And yes, you did shake us.
But we're still here.
Yes, we are shaken. We've been stirred. We've been scared. But, we're still here.
Oh, you've touched us. You've taken three thousand beautiful lives and two of most breathtaking buildings in creation. You took away a splendid view of the New York. But, we're still here.
You have made a lot of orphans, widows and widowers in the so-called "great Satan", their sadness will never completely go away. But, we're still here.
You have succeeded in making 270 million American shocked and horrified. Yes, you've bloodied our collective nose. But, we're still here.
You boys forgot what Admiral Yamato said.
"We have awakened a sleeping giant, and filled him with a terrible resolve."
Fellas, you see you've underestimated America, and that's the worse thing you can do. Appearently you haven't studied the history my country. If you had you'll find that my country has been underestimated throughout its history.
In 1776 Britain underestimated the call for freedom. In 1781, the call rang in their ears at Yorktown.
In 1941 The axis underestimated what simple tinker, tailor and farmers from America would do. In 1945 those simple folk saved the world.
In the time my mama was born, the Communist world would continue to underestimate American resolve. By the time I started high school, the winds of change began to blow. By the time I started college, communism was dying.
By the time I have children someday they'll ask me, "Dad, what was a 'Soviet Union'?"
We're still here.
There's nothing more dangerous than an American who gets challenged. You see, challenge an American and HE'LL get airplanes flying. Challenge an American, and he'll go to the moon. Challenge an American with injustice, and he'll get freedom ringing from every hill and mo-hill in Mississippi, to the caves of Afghanistan.
Are we a perfect nation, no. But it is my nation, and one year ago, you attacked my nation.
But through the shock, fear and anger, we will not hide. We're still here.
And it is my wish that we find all of you alive, and that you aRE brought to my nation and will stand trial here. It is my prayer that you experience the great strength ofOUR country. Our belief in the ideal of Rule of Law above lawlessness. For you to witness, and perhaps truly understand, why the United States of America is a land that is so free, so resolute, and so strong.
And most of all, I want that for you, so that you can see with your eyes..that WE'RE STILL HERE!
