TD has done some really nice work at OSU, and will be missed to a degree.
BUT...
Oklahoma State has consistantly ranked dead-ass last in the conference in Title IX compliance and commitment to women's sports has been shaky at best. Hopefully OSU will take this into account as a new AD is hired, and improve that embarrassing situation.

Saw this in the paper today:

Harry Birdwell, a vice president at Oklahoma State, was named the new athletic director for the school. Birdwell, a 1972 OSU grad, has been the school's vice president for business and external relations since 1994 and has been involved in major athletic department projects.

Some regents are unhappy w/ the appointment of Birdwell to AD. They'd rather he be named interim director and a nationwide search be done for the new AD. One regent even said that they need to find someone like OU's Castiglione. http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif
I thought Birdwell seemed an odd choice. He didn't play college sports and hasn't worked his way up through the athletic department, though as TXSNOS says he has been a part of major athletic department projects.
Incidentally, he recieved his JD from OU.
