Has anybody else signed up? If you all maybe want to make a group I'd be fine with it.

I signed up the other night in a fit of boredom and thought about seeing if anyone here was interested.

I just created a group.

Here's the frontpage: http://games.espn.go.com/wvgm/frontpage

Group name is: Hoopscoop
password is: hoopscoop

Come one, come all!

I'm in......I played last year in with the ESPN WNBA group.

It's a lot of fun......just cannot miss a day. The folks over at the ESPN board are better about reporting injuries than any official site, so I'll give everyone a head's up if I hear anything about particular player's.

I'm in! I played last year and had a good time. I was hoping there would be a hoopscoop group. I had fun with that drafting game we did for the tournament would we be able to do that for the WNBA season?

Katie Smith, the leading scorer in the league last season, has a badly injured finger. It's the index finger on her right hand, her shooting hand. It's dislocated, it's sliced -- held together by seven stitches -- it's swollen and it's painful, the result of a collision in practice Monday night.

Smith sat out Tuesday's preseason finale against Indiana at Target Center, and she's probably going to miss Saturday's opener against visiting Utah. She could be out seven to 10 days, which would mean missing the first two or three games.

Katie Smith, Minnesota, is an absolute VGM workhorse, though I wouldn't pick her for the first 2/3 games..

I'm not doing well at all. I've only gotten points on 2 days.
Yesterday--I changed my team to have players for today's games, but then I didn't score any for yesterday's games? I'm not understanding the way this works in regards to the timing.
I should have scored w/ Swoopes and Stiles, as they were on my team yesterday(but noone else), but since I changed my team in anticipation of today's game, I didn't score any?
Make sense?
swok, you seem to be on top of things--how do you do this???

I think they are just now posting individual scores, I looked at yours and it looks like you are picking players that aren't playing that particular night. In this game, you have to change your roster EVERY day. When you go to pick your roster, if a particular player is playing, look over to the right side and it will show the opponent, otherwise it is blank. I know a few days ago they had some players listed that had been waived and also some players on the wrong teams (having been traded)...not sure if they've fixed this or not. I went and printed out each team's roster; some players have yet to arrive, Ann Wauters is one player who comes to mind.....and someone will have to be waived once she gets there.

I always pick my teams first thing when I get to work for the next nights games. Wednesday morning I picked for Thursday nite.
The deadline is midnite pacific the night before. I didn't pick my team this morning because there are no games Friday nite.

I'm curious about Chamique Holdsclaw, she's a player I would probably pick for Saturday's game, but her grandmother died and she may not play Saturday.

They don't give you a "6th man" to allow for injuries like Hoopla does....and sometimes there is no way to tell if a player will play or not. I laid off Katie Smith the other night because I didn't think she would play and picked a -player and got burned for it......I've been trying to keep up with it a little and the group over at the WNBA ESPN board usually will figure individual player scores.

those "minus" players on my team get tossed quick http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

jennifer, I checked yours for tonite and you are fine......

but some folks have players not playing tonite in our group....
and some folks have players that just had "triplets"....
and some folks have players that are on the injured list...
and some folks have players that have yet to play a WNBA game,
meaning Stacey Dales-Schuman and Ashja Jones.

Thanks swok.
Haha, I just don't think I realized this was an every day sort of thing.
I did have Stacy on my roster the first few days. Oops! For some reason I thought they had a game opening day.
I think I'm catching on.
I played fantasy baseball a few years back, and just pretty much left my lineup the same all season. Needless to say, I didn't win, but the guys I played with were happy to have such an easy opponent! http://hoopscoop.net/ubb/smile.gif

Here's a VGM rule I forgot about: If you have the player of the week on your Sunday roster, you get 15 extra points.....
Player of the week: Tamika Catchings.
